Job description
3 Days per week, Part Time Project Manager – Manor Leisure Centre Redevelopment.
Fixed Term Contract until April 2028 and completion of the construction project.
£46,412 to £51,356 per annum, pro-rata 3 days per week.
This is an opportunity to be part of the team responsible for the remodelling of the Manor Leisure Centre, Whittlesey, creating a modern and more attractive facility to encourage residents and visitors to take part in activities that improve and maintain their health.
Whilst the Council has a third-party project team on board for this project, led by Alliance Leisure, the Council requires a ‘client-side’ officer to carry out a myriad of functions linked to the project to ensure that what is designed and then constructed fits with elected Members, stakeholder clubs and local residents’ expectations and aspirations for a modern community leisure facility. This project is complex with several stages, but all retained within a tight geographic location.
This role will require engagement at both an operational and a strategic level with elected Members, Corporate Management Team, key stakeholders such as local clubs and residents, as well as funders including Sport England and the Combined Authority, and potentially other local community grant funding organisations.
The post holder will be responsible for internal project governance, supporting community engagement, feeding into the detailed customer facing design of the new facility, liaising with Freedom Leisure regarding future contractual terms and supporting Freedom with the various stages prior to, during and after construction. Additional responsibilities will include budget monitoring, working with the team regarding programme management, payments to suppliers and general support for the delivery of the capital works programme.
The post holder will also be responsible for continuing the development of a grant bid to Sport England and then regularly reporting progress to funding authorities and liaising with funders accordingly, as well as necessary reporting required as part of the Council’s governance processes.
